The Nash family is on Peggy (Landrith) Nutt's maternal side of her family. Her mother was June Ellis, daughter of Roy Ellis and Cordia Isreal. However, Cordey died when June was only six so June was raised by her uncle Monroe Ellis and his wife Helen Nash.

In an unusual twist of life, Peggy's father was also raised by a Nash. Clayton Landrith was the son of Leon Landrith and Rhuie McPherson. However, Rhuie died when Clayton was only eleven months old. Clayton was raised by his uncle Gerald McPherson and his wife Orpha Nash (a sister to Helen Nash mentioned above).

As a result of both of Peggy's parents being raised by Nash sisters, Peggy grew up believing the Nash sisters to be her grandmothers. In reality they were her grandaunts. Family ties between the Nashes and Ellises are numerous.

This Nash family line descends from immigrant ancestor Thomas Nash of Connecticut. Thomas Nash landed in Boston on 26 July 1637 aboard the ship "Hector." He brought with him a wife and five children.

If anyone has additional information on this branch of the Nash family, I would be delighted for you to contact me and help fill in any information gaps.
