JACKSON, MICH. — Richard G. "Dick" Rowley, 73, of Jackson, passed away Saturday, August 15, 1998. He was born December 22, 1924 at Hudson, Michigan, the son of Warren Verner Rowley Sr. and Alfretta Henry.

He was a Navy veteran of World War II and a member of VFW Post 823, the DAV, American Legion, Tin Can Sailors, and the Eagles. He retired from the Southern Michigan Prison in Jackson.

Survivors include four sons, Richard Kapp of California, Robert Kapp of Ohio, Raymond Rowley and Ronald Rowley, both of Jackson; one daughter, Kathy Kapp of Virginia; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and one sister, Winona Apt of Ohio.

Preceding him in death were his parents, his brother Warren Verner Rowley Jr., and a baby daughter Sherri Lynn Rowley.

Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M. Wednesday at the Charles J. Burden & Son Funeral Home, 1806 E. Michigan Avenue, Jackson, with burial at Fort Custer National Cemetery in Battle Creek, Michigan. Visitation will be Monday and Tuesday evenings from six to eight o’clock.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
