An Obituary1 BAXTER SPRINGS, KANS. — Helen Smith Nash was born March 24, 1832, near Buffalo, New York. She died at Baxter Springs, Kansas, February 18, 1919. By these two dates a beautiful life was bounded. When but a child, moved with her parents to Ohio. There she met Mr. Judah Nash and was united in marriage to him December 3, 1851. Forty-two years ago they came to Kansas and settled just north of Baxter Springs. They have lived here ever since. Five children remain to keep sacred in memory their mother. They are Wm. R. and Albert R. Nash, both of Faulkner, Kans., Chas. F. Nash of Vinita, Okla., Miss Eudora Nash and Mrs. Francis Gaba of Baxter Springs. Mrs. Nash was converted and joined the Methodist church when she was ten years of age and has lived a faithful Christian life. She united by letter with the Methodist church of this city on the 9th day of April 1887. The church and community has thus lost a longtime faithful and much loved citizen. The funeral was conducted by her pastor, Dr. O. L. Orton, and the remains were interred in the Baxter cemetery in the family lot. 1.
